Qualifications:
- 2 Years Minimum Experience REQUIRED
- Minimum 2 years open heart recovery REQUIRED
- Immediate post-open heart recovery experience REQUIRED
- 1st Time Travelers are ACCEPTED
- Locals are ACCEPTED
- Certs: ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS
Skills REQUIRED:
- Cardiovascular ICU
- Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias & Multi-system organ failure
- Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump, Post Cardiac Surgery (directly from the OR), Pre/Post Cardiac Cath/intervention, Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring & Ventricular Assist devices (LVAD/RVAD)
- CVVHD/CRRT
- Arterial line management, Blood Product Administration & Central line care/management
- Continuous IV sedation, Titrate Cardiac drips & Titrate Vasoactive drips
- Assist with Chest Tube Insertion/Removal, Care of Ventilated Patient, Interpretation of ABGs & Ventilator Management
- Isolation Precautions/ Use of PPE
- Pacemakers & Chest Tubes
PREFERRED Skills:
- PICC line management
JOB DETAILS:
- Avg. Daily Census: 22; 2 Visits/Day; Rooms/Beds: 6
- 12 HOUR NIGHTS; 18:45 - 07:15
- Call Requirement: YES. 4 weekend call shifts per 6-week schedule period, + schedule weekdays. The Call requirement is to arrive within 30 minutes.
- Float Requirement: YES. All critical care and cardiac step-down units
- Weekend Requirement: Required minimum of 4 weekend call shifts in a 6-week period
SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS:
- PATIENT DIAGNOSES: Immediate post open heart surgery
- Swan ganz
- Continuous Cardiac Output Monitoring
- epicardial pacemakers
- chest tubes
- vasopressors/Inotrope titration
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT: Impella, Intra-aortic balloon pump, CRRT
UNIT SYSTEMS: Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR
SCRUBS: Provided
